Anser Implants Awarded LaunchMN Innovation Grant

We’re thrilled to announce that Anser Implants has been awarded an Innovation Grant from LaunchMN! This funding will accelerate our company’s growth while supporting our critical Minnesota-based partners.

This grant award is a significant milestone for us, not just in terms of financial support but also as a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. It validates our current business practices at Anser Implants and reinforces the positive trajectory for our future.

State and other government funding is often seen as a significant value-add for potential investors. It wasn’t long ago that Anser Implants was also recognized and invited to participate in the exclusive Startup Showcase hosted by LaunchMN.

Receiving this grant reinforces our commitment to filling a current clinical gap and need for a better way to treat midshaft clavicle fractures. We believe that with this support, we can help more patients access the Anser Clavicle Pin so they no longer have to choose between a permanent bump or an irritating plate.

Stay tuned for updates. We’re just getting started.

The Anser Clavicle Pin Highlighted by Innovation Guru, Masha Dumanis

Another new company that caught my eye was Anser Implants, with a new, minimally invasive, intramedullary pin for clavicle fixation. The product is a more refined solution than plating for midshaft fractures and prevents non-unions and other issues with more conservative treatment. I am really eager to hear from trauma surgeons about this product – its elegance impressed me.

“Trailblazer,” Dr. Paul Hoogervorst, highlighted by UMN’s Dept of Orthopedic Surgery

Founder of Anser Implants, Dr. Paul Hoogervorst, recently sat down with Katelin Shaft, Marketing Communications Manager for the University of Minnesota Department of Orthopedic Surgery, to talk about his journey as an inventor, entrepreneur, and mentor.

Bringing a new product to market in both European and US markets is an extraordinary achievement, especially when accomplished alongside completing a residency, earning a PhD, finishing three fellowships, and starting both a clinical practice and a family. Paul’s energy, vision and leadership are foundational to the future of Anser Implants, one that is undoubtedly bright as more patients realize the benefits of the minimally invasive, optimally effective Anser Clavicle Pin.

The Dept also showcased a recent cadaver lab for surgeons. Click here to see some photos of the event.

LaunchMN Selects Anser Implants for Startup Showcase

LaunchMN is “a statewide collaborative effort to accelerate startups and amplify Minnesota as a leader in innovation.” Indeed, this MN DEED initiative has helped seemingly countless startups obtain grants and other critical funding, network connections, and supplies a continuous stream of invaluable information across the industy.

Knowing how well-respected the LaunchMN platform is across the country, it was all the more humbling and exciting that Anser Implants was selected for their coveted Startup Showcase. This venue brings together vetted startups and investors alike to quickly advance the fundraising conversation for all parties. As part of the process, subject matter experts reviewed our pitch deck and provided invaluable feedback to ensure the best possible reception for our company when we went live.

We had just 4 minutes to make our pitch! Founder, Paul Hoogervorst, talked faster than he thought possible to meet the deadline and he did an outstanding job delivering the message on what sets the Anser Clavicle Pin apart in the marketplace. Anser Implants has had a less-than-traditional startup journey bootstrapping all the way through regulatory achievements (510(k) and CE certification) and generating revenue across the US. Our upcoming investment round will focus on strategically growing on our team, expanding our reach and generating clinical data. Stay tuned for more exciting developments…!
